Ms. Larissa Taylor

Second Degree Black Belt Recommended Regionally Certified Instructor 🥋

Ms. Taylor is a First-Degree Black Belt and Regionally Certified Instructor. At the age of 7, Ms. Taylor began training in Taekwondo in West Palm Beach, Florida. She fell in love with Taekwondo early on, because for Ms. Taylor Taekwondo isn’t about being better than others – it’s about becoming better than you used to be.

It was in Taekwondo that Ms. Taylor first began to learn leadership and discipline, and during her early training years she was able to compete in many different tournaments around the state of Florida. At the age of 11, Ms. Taylor was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy and stepped away from Taekwondo training for many years but never gave up the goal of becoming a black belt.

In 2023, Ms. Taylor was able to start training again and joined the family at McMurray’s Family Taekwondo, where she also enjoys helping other students of all ages and ranks. In 2025, she became a First-Degree Black Belt and a Regionally Certified Instructor. Ms. Taylor also holds two degrees from Colorado School of Mines; a Bachelor’s in Applied Mathematics (2012), and a Master’s in Applied Mathematics (2015). When she’s not in the dojang, she works full time as software developer.

Today, Ms. Taylor is the head instructor at Tiger Shark Martial Arts where she trains students of all ages.

Ms. Ava Archambault

Certified Junior Instructor

My name is Ms. Archambault. I started Taekwondo when I was 8, and right away I knew I loved it. I liked learning kicks, forms, and all the cool moves, but I also liked how it made me feel strong and focused. I always wanted to get better, so I showed up to as many classes as I could and practiced a lot at home too.

When I was 10, I earned my First Degree Black Belt. It took a lot of hard work, but I never gave up. My instructor told me he noticed how serious I was and how I always tried my best. He also said I was good at helping others and staying positive, which made me really proud.

At a young 11 years old, I was promoted to a Certified Junior Instructor. I am really excited to be able to help students learn their forms, kicks, and stances. Teaching makes me happy because Taekwondo has helped me grow, and I want other people to feel that too.

My Taekwondo journey is just getting started, but I love that I can already inspire people around me.

I’m also offering private lessons for anyone who wants extra help, wants to feel more confident, or just wants to try Taekwondo with someone who understands what it’s like to start from the beginning.
